Developed by members of the People’s Campaign for Parole Justice’s steering committee as well as artists and law students, this project sought to highlight the rigged nature of the New York parole system. Leaning on the familiar card game UNO, this project group staged a game between members of the Parole Board and Parole Applicants to demonstrate the unfair and unpredictable rules of the parole system. This work in progress was a test run to gather feedback before bringing the game to popular gathering points for legislative aides to disarmingly inform them about the Elder Parole Bill.
