Bring Theater of Change to your
organization or institution

Theater of Change is best suited to support organizations interested in using policy-informed artistry to advance policy outcomes, while centering those directly impacted in advocacy and policy making. The Theater of Change offers a way for groups, organizations, and coalitions to:

  1. Strengthen and amplify their ongoing advocacy campaigns, policy goals and strategies
  2. Develop a concrete strategy to advance shared policy goals, and/or
  3. Connect to others with common goals and interests and build the capacity and relationships enabling them to work together to advance shared policy goals.

Broadway Advocacy Coalition enlists organizational collaborators who are involved in ongoing advocacy efforts and want to integrate the Theater of Change methodology and relationships into their efforts. These partners include:

  • Advocacy organizations seeking to strengthen relationships among lawyers, policy makers, advocates, and directly impacted communities, and/or to use artistry to amplify the impact of narratives and advocacy.
  • Individuals who have developed a network committed to a shared goal related to reducing mass incarceration.
  • Performing arts groups, theaters, or organizations seeking to build policy impact into artistic productions addressing social justice themes, and to do effective community engagement by forming ongoing relationships with communities directly impacted by incarceration engaged in advocacy efforts
  • Coalitions (including centers and student organizations) that come together to transform pedagogy and practice in law schools or theater programs to center the experiences and leadership of those directly impacted by the carceral state.
